Electric Motor, Generator Repair and Rewind Service

TDC Electric Motor and Generator repair facility has been expanded over the last few years and we are now able to handle AC and DC Equipment repairs and rewinds up to 5MW. Our total workshop area is over 27,500 square feet incorporating the rewind, dismantling, assembling, mechanical fitting, Fabrication, Machining, Test, Balancing Machine, Shotblasting, Painting and Storage Areas.

We have a very highly trained workforce, of Armature Winders, Electrical and Mechanical Fitters, Turners, and Semi-skilled personnel, backed up by very experienced Electrical and Mechanical Management Team.

TDC can cater for all types of AC and DC Motor and Generator repairs, refurbishment and rewinds. We are specialists in the repair and rewind of Hazardous Area Motors and Generators, and for British and European equipment TDC holds a BASEEFA Repair Licence and for American Equipment we are a Underwriters Laboratory (UL) approved repair workshop, and can Re-certify (Re-list) theses USA Electric Motors and Generators. We have the capacity to load test up to 500kW, and to run and test up to 6.6kV.

Drilling rig DC Traction motors and main generators are another specialist area of ours for repairs, rewinds and project refurbishment either in our workshops or on location. Please note that the smallest motors are catered for by TDC, for many of these are special design and are just as vitally important to our customers.

Our policy is to carry out all the different types of specialist repairs in house, and to ensure this we have set up our own shotblast and painting division and workshop. We have two dynamic balancing machines with a capacity of 5kg to 6000kg and can handle rotors up to 12 meters long. Our well equipped machine shop can carry out a large range of turning, milling and boring repairs or manufacture and we have a number of spray welding techniques.

TDC currently store and supply a full Range of new standards and 'ex' motors. We hold up to 150kW in stock, along with the associated control gear.

We provide our customers with a experienced on site electric motor and generator service, for fault finding refurbishment, repairs and specialist services such as dynamic balancing and vibration analysis.
