Our Electric Motor and Generator facility has been purposely designed to accommodate the repair and overhaul of a wide range of rotating equipment. From special design, fractional horsepower motors to large industrial 5 MW machines.

TDC’s rotating equipment services include industrial and IECEx ATEX electric motor & generator repairs, rewinds, overhauls and servicing; pump repairs and maintenance; Eddy Current Brakes, and Traction Motor refurbishment. In addition, our engineers carry out on-site essential maintenance projects including brush and bearing changes, motor replacement, mechanical and electrical installation work, laser alignment, dynamic balancing and condition monitoring.
We operate On-shore, Offshore UK, Marine, and Internationally performing in-situ motor and generator overhauls and HV Partial Discharge Analysis. TDC also supply a complete range of electrical and mechanical products designed to add value to the integrated engineering services we provide.

Our AC & DC Traction Motor Department specialise in traction motor major overhaul and repairs to the highest standards.
With our comprehensive technical knowledge and experience, TDC can provide complete refurbishment and overhaul packages for a broad range of traction motors. Inspection, Electrical Test, Disassembly, Overhaul, Shot-Blast & Prime, MPI, OEM Parts fitted, Dynamic Balancing, Offshore Paint Specification, Reassembly, Alignment, FAT, Recertify, Client Sign-off and Deliver. EDDY CURRENT BRAKES
Our engineering workshops have the in-house capabilities and machinery to perform all types of repairs and special requirements for Baylor Elmagco brakes for the Oil and Gas industry. Repairs ranging from a bearing change to full overhaul and refurbishment including fitting new OEM magnets and rotors.

MACHINING SERVICES
TDC provide in-house machining services for bearing journals, shafts, and housings. Commutator machining; skimming; and undercutting service.
With a 10,000²ft modern machine shop fully equipped to carry out a comprehensive range of manual and NC turning, milling and boring applications, TDC can manufacture most components and repairs for your rotating equipment.

LOAD TEST FACILITIES
Load testing is a process of identifying a motors’ efficiency and determining its behaviour under normal peak loads. TDC’s load test facilities are capable of testing AC & DC motors and generators before and after repair.
Our water-cooled Dynamometer delivers 3150lbf/ft / 4500Nm torque; 900HP / 600kW maintaining constant torque loads and RPM settings with minimum fluctuation. Available with Data Acquisition Electronic Readouts to record actual load test values.

TDC can provide complete stand-alone project management, or partial project teams to integrate with the established client in-house departments and projects. Also, individual project managers and discipline project engineers can be deployed to suit individual projects as and when required.
In this way we can support Major Capital projects and also Management Asset driven projects & maintenance/upgrades onshore/offshore.
