Marine Electro/Mechanical Fitter

We are currently recruiting for personnel to complement the existing engineers within the Marine Electrical Department for the following:

 

Marine Electro/Mechanical Fitter

Key Requirements & Experience:

The ideal candidate will be fully time served and experienced in the repair of Generators, Bow Thrusters and Propulsion Motors on Marine vessels. 
A solid background in Electric Motors & Generators, AC and DC Motor repairs, rewinds, overhauls and associated equipment is required.
The ability to work on your own initiative, good communication and problem-solving skills are also required. 

Additional:​​

Previous experience in overhaul & refurbishing of AC/DC motors and other electro-mechanical equipment, including medium and high voltage equipment.
Experience on EX motors is advantageous.

 

This role is full time and based at our Marine Electrical site at York Street, Aberdeen.

Shot Blaster

 

TDC’s Quality Coatings division specialises in surface preparation and specialist coatings for a wide range of environments including, Subsea, Topside and splash Zone. Working closely with market leading paint manufacturers, we have the knowledge, experience and capabilities to meet and exceed our client’s needs while producing work of the highest standard.  We are currently recruiting within the Quality Coatings Department for the following personnel:

 

Shot Blaster

The ideal candidate must be experienced in Industrial Blasting who is methodical, and process driven with great attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

The role will include but is not limited to:

  • Preparing parts for Shot Blasting to various standards in accordance with clients’ specification and accepted trade practice

  • Shot-blasting, Glass Bead Blasting & Garnet Blasting

  • Preparing parts for painting

  • Operating and maintaining blasting equipment

  • Practicing good housekeeping – including correct paint storage and maintaining clear paper records

  • Reviewing work practices and suggesting ways to reduce lead times and costs

Experience:

  • Experience of blasting in a similar environment

  • Ability to prioritise workload when up against deadlines

  • Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative

  • Valid forklift truck licence desirable but not necessary

 

This is a permanent, full-time role working at our main site at Bucksburn, Aberdeen.

Approved Installation & Testing Electrician

Approved Installation & Testing Electrician

Key Requirements:

  • Experienced in all aspects of Industrial & Commercial Electrical Installations & Testing

  • Proficient with conduit, trunking, SWA cable, and cable tray installation

  • Experienced with installation of three phase and single-phase power circuits and associated control equipment

  • The ability to read and understand electrical schematic & technical drawings

  • Competent to work on your own initiative

  • Good communication skills are considered essential

  • The ability to produce high quality workmanship

  • Excellent appreciation of customer care and attention to detail required

Experience:

  • Electrical installation & testing experience with a proven track record within the industry

  • Good comprehension of NICEIC documentation and certification   

  • Fault finding and breakdown expertise desirable

 

Qualifications:

  • Fully time served and qualified in relevant electrical discipline

  • BS 7671 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations

  • City & Guilds 2392 Inspection and Testing or equivalent certificate

  • SJIB Qualified

  • ECS Card

  • IPAF certificate advantageous

  • Minimum ONC or NVQ/SVQ Level 3 qualified

 

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Aberdeen with frequent traveling to customer sites within Scotland.  A company vehicle will be provided to the successful applicant. Therefore, applicants must hold a current UK driving licence.

Marine Electronics Engineer

Marine Electronics Engineer

Key Requirements:

  • Independently carrying out repairs and maintenance on a variety of different equipment both onshore and offshore.

  • Perform surveys and inspections on customer's ships including radio surveys and VDR performance tests.

  • Supporting the Senior Engineer in the service and installation of marine electronics.

  • Carry out any necessary duties that may develop as the business evolves.

  • Work on your own initiative and good communication skills are essential.

  • This position involves working outdoors and working at heights at times.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

  • A proven background within the marine sector, preferably within an electronics/electrical engineering environment.

  • A formal qualification in electronics e.g. HNC/HND level or NVQ3.

  • Understanding of Communication systems such as Radar, Gyro compass, VHF & MF/HF Radio and GPS navigation systems.

  • Will require some weekend and out-of-hours work on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Must have the right to work in the UK

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Aberdeen with frequent traveling in and around the local area as necessary and occasional travel both in the UK and overseas, a company vehicle will be provided to the successful applicant. Industrial Maintenance and Contracting Electricians

Key Requirements:

  • Experienced in all aspects of Industrial Electrical Maintenance and fault finding, including equipment designed for use within potentially hazardous atmospheres.

  • Experienced in the installation of three phase and single-phase circuits/equipment.

  • The ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings.

  • Work on your own initiative and good communication skills are essential.

 

Experience:

  • Fault finding, installation and electrical maintenance with a proven track record within the industry.

  • Marine wiring and control circuit installation or fault-finding experience advantageous.

  • Knowledge and experience of circuit breakers, generators, and PLC control systems also preferred.

  • Control panel and systems wiring, fault finding, and installation expertise.

  • Hazardous area equipment inspection and maintenance experience, CompEx Ex01 – 04 levels.

 

Qualifications:

  • Fully time served and qualified in relevant electrical discipline
